You can take the girl out of Newcastle... Cheryl Cole brings out her inner Geordie and wears a silk jump suit in the big freeze

Not feeling the cold, Cheryl? Miss Cole arrives for dinner in freezing cold London last night in a thin, strapless jumpsuit

Geordie girls never let a thing like the snow stop them going out in skimpy attire and Cheryl Cole is clearly determined not the let the side down.

Proving that you can take the girl out of Newcastle, but not Newcastle out of the girl, the X Factor judge stepped out in the snow in London last night wearing very little.

Cole, 27, wore nothing but a strapless blue satin jumpsuit and strappy, towering heels as temperatures dropped to minus four degrees.

The Girls Aloud star didn't even seem to notice the freezing cold weather as she stepped out of her car upon arrival at the Nobu restaurant on Park Lane with her mother Joan.

And although she was driven to the restaurant and back in a nice warm, chauffeured-driven car, she still would have been exposed to the elements as she walked in and out.

It's just a bit of snow: Cheryl doesn't even seem to notice the sub-zero climes as she stepped out of her car

Her mother also went without a coat but still had the sense to cover her arms in a sparkly cardigan.

But their lack of warm clothes was in stark comparison to their fellow diners, with one woman - who was wrapped up snug in a scarf and thick coast - looking at Cheryl in amusement as she watched her step outside in her flimsy outfit.

Would you like an autograph? Despite her bodyguard's protest, Cheryl seemed more than happy to stop and chat to a fan

She even stopped and chatted to a fan who approached her outside Nobu and despite her bodyguard trying to stop him getting near Cheryl, she seemed happy to stop and pass the time of day in the cold weather.

Earlier this month, Cheryl would have been proud of her fellow Geordie girls as some of the female revellers of Newcastle were snapped wearing very little in a snowstorm that hit the Tyne and Wear region, famous for its bracing weather and locals' apparent imperviousness to cold.

Cheryl was joined at the Japanese restaurant by Joan and her Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts, who although comes from Liverpool, is a still northern girl like Cheryl, but even she made sure she was covered up in tights and a long-sleeved furry bolero jacket.

She was accompanied by her boyfriend Charlie Fennell who gallantly took her hand and dashed her to his car before driving her home.

Also attending the pre-Christmas dinner was their band mate Kimberley Walsh, but she appeared to have come over all camera-shy as she avoid the waiting paparazzi.

It was also Chery's first weekend off since the X Factor finished its seventh series last weekend, with Dannii Minogue's act Matt Cardle crowned this year's winner, so she was probably enjoying a night to relax.

She recently recorded her appearance on the celebrity chat show Alan Carr, Chatty Man, which will be broadcast on Channel 4 on Monday night.

Letting her hair down: The X Factor now finished, Cheryl looked as though she'd made the most of her weekend off as she left the restaurant looking a little bleary-eyed

And although she refused to confirm whether she was dating dancer Derek Hough, she said she has been too busy for a relationship since she split from footballer husband Ashley Cole in February.

She said: 'I've had no time. A lady doesn't talk about these things.'

And she denied there was anything between her and X Factor boss Simon Cowell, who she had 'good chemistry' with before she revealed that he had given her Botox vouchers for Christmas.

She said: 'I still haven't opened mine. I'll give it back to him... he could use it himself! But he looks younger now than he did before. Maybe the Botox works!'
